Westlife call it quits
Irish pop group, Westlife, are ready to call it quits after 14 years on top.
The foursome — one of the most successful boy bands of all time — have announced that their upcoming 'Greatest Hits' album will be the group's last.
Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan, have sold more than 44 million records in just over a decade, and will kick off their final tour in May next year.
Last night the band thanked their fans, saying their career had been "a dream come true."
In an official statement, the foursome said: "The decision is entirely amicable and after spending all our adult life together so far, we want to have a well-earned break and look at new ventures."
A source told UK daily newspaper The Sun, the band's decision so split was not something they took "lightly", explaining: "they are still at the top of their game.
"They could carry on making albums into their old age…but none of them would want to do that.
"They're all loaded and don't need the money. It's quality time they're after and focus to do their own things," said the source.
